Have you ever wanted to learn more about the food you eat? Have you hankered to do it with style? And without sacrificing flavor? Welcome to Rain Shadow Meats, where the world is your, um, sausage? Rain Shadow does make its own sausages, but that's only one of the many many reasons you should spend your time and money here. Order a better-than-you-believe Thanksgiving turkey or visit for a holiday special like Oktoberfest brats or the Father's Day-themed charcuterie platters.
But we're here for the sandwiches. Rain Shadow is a place where you technically can build your own sandwich, but why you would want to is beyond us. Unless you've got pretty specific taste, you're more than likely to love the whole menu. Channel Los Angeles with the Dipper, an homage to the French Dip, or move to Paris for lunch with the ham and brie sandwich, which comes dressed up with fennel mostarda and radicchio. Want to stay firmly rooted in the Pacific Northwest? Check out the CLT, a surprising twist on a classic.
Rain Shadow is a full-service community butchery though, and they also teach classes on how to do what they do in your own home. Want to take a look inside the shop? Check out this great clip from one of those classes.
